Seriously, how did nobody die?! Head upriver with Ed's review of Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse
Never get off the boat ...
Ed gets himself lost in the jungle with Francis Ford Coppola and the Apocalypse Now behind-the-scenes documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse. If it could all be summed up in a word that word would be "insane" if it had to be summed up in a sentence that sentence would be; "The horror ... the horror ..."
Things were bad, very bad and virtually everything that could go wrong did. So considering the maddening amount of bad luck and infamous stories behind the making of Apocalypse Now the real surprise is not that this big budget Vietnam exploitation flick was even completed but that nobody died filming it ... Martin Sheen almost didn't survive. The good news? It made for one helluva documentary!
So if you love he smell of napalm in the morning, people on the edge of sanity and guerilla filmmaking then head right over here to hop onboard with Ed!
